Project Pantry!

Looking for an easy but impactful project this weekend?  Dive into your pantry.  It’s one of the most interactive spaces in your home and, as a result, it can quickly get messy and require some love.  Today on the blog, we share how to make the Grand Central station of your home user friendly and functional!

• First thing’s first - take it all out so you are left with an empty space

• Check all labels for expiration dates - toss what’s expired.  Whatever stays should be sorted so your categories are clear

• We do LOVE to decant food into user-friendly containers - this involves taking packaged goods out of their original packaging (think pasta, cereal, baking ingredients, etc.)  This keeps food fresh and easy to see.  We tend to lean toward OXO since their ubiquitous pop tops are readily available should you need to buy more down the road, you’ll be able to expand your collection with ease

• If you have pull out drawers in your pantry, you may benefit from these containers with snap-on lids (with labels on the lids for easy viewing)

• We love a “stadium” style solution for cans so you can see everything beautifully displayed

• Spice storage is an absolute must, not just because a uniform set looks so great, but decanting, labeling and alphabetizing allows you to know what you have and prevent from over buying

• Lazy susans are your friend!  Are we a broken record yet?  These are an absolute must for your oils and quick grab items and help maximize your space
